SUMMARY
-Granodiorite rocks can easily be carved using temperature techniques. Hundreds of stone spheres were found quarried in the foothills of the Talamanca Mountains. Researchers even saw a gigantic ball weighing over 16 tons.
-The Roman dodecahedron had 12 flat pentagon-shaped faces with a knob protruding on each corner. It might have been a dice, a kid’s toy, a candle holder, a simple decoration, a measuring device on the battlefield, or an astronomical instrument, to name a few.
-The Phaistos Disk was made from clay and measures about 6.2 inches in diameter. Experts concluded that it was a prayer to an ancient Minoan goddess.
-The formula of Greek fire was a well-guarded state secret for over 7 centuries. Greek fire was used in naval warfare.
-Blades made from Damascus steel were the most sought after in medieval Europe. And that’s because they were the best swords at the time.
-The Iron pillar of Delhi dates back to the Gupta period, which lasted from about 240 to 590 C.E. A small amount of rust has started to form, but it is strange that there isn’t more.
-Viking Ulfberht swords are believed to have been made around 800 to 1,000 C.E., but experts were sure that the technology used to make swords of such extraordinary quality didn’t come around until 800 years later.
-The Voynich manuscript has 240 pages broken up into four sections: herbal, astrological, balneological, and pharmacological. There have literally been dozens of failed attempts to crack this thing.
-In 132 C.E., Zhang Heng, a Chinese inventor, astronomer, engineer, scientist, scholar, and artist, invented a seismoscope and presented it to the Han court as an instrument for measuring seasonal winds and the Earth’s movements.
-The Antikythera mechanism was retrieved by a group of divers in 1900 and has been dubbed “the world’s first analog computer” and it was made around 200 B.C.E.

Those of you who have "visiting all the countries in the world" on their bucket list, you'll have more work to do, since new countries are likely to appear on the political map of the world in 2019. Tesla will manufacture more than half a million cars for the first time in the history of the company.
By 2020, more than 6,1 billion people will be using smartphones all over the world. In more than half of the USA, solar energy will become more economical than usual electricity.

By 2025, the population of Earth will reach 8 billion people. People's life expectancy will get longer and there will be 50 times more centenarians.

By 2030, the area of the Arctic ice sheet will get extremely small. People will mass-produce artificial blood for transfusions. By 2035, solar activity will decrease by 1 percent, and as a result, Earth will experience a mini ice age. People will be able to widen the range of their senses using implants that will detect more signals such as X-rays, radio waves and others.

By 2038, world population will reach the number of
9 billion people.
In 2045, brain implants that people will use both for entertainments and for curing disabilities will become available.
In 2050, first colonists might come to the Red Planet as a part of the Mars One project. The population of big cities will reach 6,3 billion people.

SUMMARY:
- Liopleurodon was a giant marine reptile from the family of short-necked plesiosaurs. This species lived during the Callovian stage of the Middle Jurassic Period. The typical size of a Liopleurodon varied from 16 to 23 ft, but the largest reached over 33 ft.
- Arthropleura lived in the territories of current northeastern North America and Scotland about 315 million years ago. The species ranged from almost one to 7 ft in length and were around 2 ft in width. Arthropleura's body was apparently composed of around 30 jointed segments covered by 2 side plates and one center plate.
- Megalania is the biggest monitor lizard you can possibly imagine. The youngest of its fossils dates back to approximately 50,000 years ago. The length of the largest Megalanias reached around 23 ft with a maximum weight of 1,320–1,370 lb. They were unbelievably active hunters.
- Dunkleosteus became extinct about 358–382 million years ago during the Late Devonian period. However, there wasn't just one Dunkleosteus — there were actually 10 species of it, including D. terrelli, D. denisonii, and D. magnificus. D. terrelli, the largest of them, was almost 20 ft long. Most Dunkleosteus fossils were found in North America, Poland, Belgium, and Morocco.
- Jaekelopterus was a giant predatory sea scorpion Scientists confirmed that Jaekelopterus reached a size of nearly 8.5 ft, which makes it the largest arthropod ever.
- Sarcosuchus, a distant relative of living crocodiles, lived about 112 million years ago. It had somewhat telescoped eyes and a long snout with 35 teeth on each side of its upper jaw and 31 teeth on each side of its lower one.
- Gorgonopses lived around 260 million years ago, terrifying all the smaller species of that time. As for their size, these creatures were about 10 ft long and weighed nearly 1,000 lb. They were basically at the top of the food chain.
- Titanoboa lived in the region that's now a part of northeastern Colombia, and its fossils date back to about 58–60 million years ago. Titanoboa holds the scary record for the largest snake ever discovered with a total length of nearly 48 ft and a weight of about 2,500 lb.
- Meganeuropsis still continue to be the biggest insect of all time with a wing length of 13” and a body length of almost 17”. The very first fossils of Meganeuropsis were actually discovered in France back in 1880.
- Helicoprion lived was around 290 million years ago, living in North America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Australia's waters. The most distinctive feature of Helicoprion was its circular jaw. Helicoprions proved to be incredibly strong since they survived the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event that killed 90% of marine animals and around 70% of terrestrial ones.
